What is HUNGER?
According to Building resilience for Peace and Food Security report world hunger is on the rise: the estimated number of undernourished people increased from 777 million in 2015 to 815 million in 2016.
That means one in nine people do not get enough food to be healthy and lead an active life.
Hunger and malnutrition are in fact the number one risk to health worldwide.
Assisting 80 million people in around 80 countries each year, WFP is the leading humanitarian organization fighting hunger worldwide, delivering food assistance in emergencies and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience.

USE THE POWER OF STORIES
Stories are effective in teaching because they require readers to not only passively receive information, but also interact with the text and images to construct meaning, and that is the key to the magic.

FREE RICE GAME
Grow your vocabulary & help feed the poor at the same time. Freerice was founded in October 2007 by John Breen. In March 2009 Mr. Breen donated the site to the UN World Food Programme. The UN World Food Programme (WFP) distributes all of the rice that you donate to help fight hunger. categories |
Difficulty Levels
To make Freerice more challenging, there are difficulty levels for each subject. In the previous version of Freerice, there were up to 60 individual levels for each category. In the new interface, we have reduced those to 5 levels from easiest to hardest, but the progression still follows the previous 60 levels behind the scenes. Freerice automatically adjusts to your level, increasing or decreasing depending on how you’re doing in the game. WARNING:
